I suddenly thought of him because I heard David Archuleta’s Crush on Yahoo Launchcast a few minutes ago. Didn’t his handlers know that a lull like this could cost him his American Idol popularity? Or it might have cost him already.
This is sad considering the guy is immensely talented!
Late, late, late! I am sorry for this. I was raided by relatives and had limited time to go on the net. Anyway, here are the participants for this week:
Get a chance to win 500ec credits just by answering this question:
What is the best tv show or movie ever shown for you? And why?
Let me know your thoughts.
Note: There are no best answers. I would just like to know, really. Again, I will use Randomizer.org in choosing the winner. The first commenter will be number 1 and so on.
Leading Game 2 with a final score of 62-51, Ateneo de Manila University won the 2008 UAAP Season 71 Basketball Championship Series versus La Salle University. It was a great game but from the onset, you could see that it was Ateneo’s game. Norman Black’s boys were relaxed and confident. Chris Tiu, the team’s star player, was even not utilized that much unlike in Game 1. Fans of the team were going crazy with each shot sealing the game.

has an awful lot of breaks according to spectators who came to New York’s Central Park. Here is a video of David Blaine showing one of his numerous breaks.
You can even hear a kid in the background calling him a liar! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Kat asked if there will be another Freebie Friday coming up…
YES, there will be another one this coming Friday!
Actually, there will be Freebie Fridays every week until the end of this year! There will be variations to the contest. Last Friday, I just asked everyone to leave a comment, any kind of comment, to enter the contest. This coming Friday, I will be leaving a question and will ask everyone to answer it. Just in the comment section as well. I won’t be asking for too much from everyone. I just want the participants to have some fun and have a chance to win 500ec credits easily.
Feel free to spread the word around. I hope to see your comments this coming Friday!

Ateneo de Manila University. Or La Salle University. We still have to watch the game!
Game 1 is on right now. Ateneo leading. It will be a tough match for sure. And as expected, both schools are in attendance. In full force! Top alumni from both schools are present. Well-known personalities are all in attendance.
Would you believe, when tickets for sale were announced, it took 3 hours to sell everything out. It was that fast!
Let’s see who wins this year’s senior basketball category of the UAAP. College basketball is sustaining our country’s love for basketball. The pro is no longer that appealing to most people. Ticket sales says it all.
THANK YOU to all those who joined. I guess if the comment form was functioning well before I became aware of it, there would have been more participants. Anyway, here is the list of those who participated:
NOTE: The comment section is now functioning. I wasn’t aware that the embedded comment form does not work in this template. Anyway, I apologize to those who tried to leave a comment and couldn’t do so. You can comment now!
As I have mentioned in my post I am back!, at the end of each week, which would mean Friday to me, I will be giving away 500ec credits to a lucky commentor. Just comment on this post. At exactly 8pm EST (8am Saturday here in Manila) I will pick a random name among the commentors and the winner will be given 500ec credits.
Just comment and get a chance to win!

Do not forget: John Lloyd Cruz will play a challenging role in this weekend’s Maalaala Mo Kaya. It will be on September 20 around 8pm if I am not mistaken. He will be playing a man devoted to his wife and family only to end up insane! You will have to watch the show to know the whole story, though.
2008 has been a good year for John Lloyd. Big blockbuster movies under his belt including his movie with Sarah Geronimo. And then there’s the local version of Betty La Fea. Talks are even ripe that he’ll be doing a movie with the Star For All Seasons, Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto.
And he deserves all the praises being heaped on him right now. The guy is really good! One of the few local actors that I truly admire.

The biggest question in showbiz right now… Did Rose Flaminiano really duped Gabby Concepcion out of a 25K (pesos) contract amount?
Wagging tongues are saying that Nadia Montenegro plays a big part in all this brouhaha. She is said to be the sulsoltant of Gabby Concepcion and that there were even text messages sent to a lot of people saying that Mrs. Flaminiano is a bad person that Gabby should never trust. And there’s more!
So now the two, Gabby and Mrs. Flaminiano will face each other in court because they filed lawsuits against each other. Gabby wants his management contract with Mrs. Flaminiano rescinded immediately. While the latter is seeking a TRO and some other thing. Sigh.
In my opinion, Mrs. Flaminiano need only answer the questions thrown at her by Gabby. Did she or did she not benefited more out of him that’s why he’s feeling duped? If so, then she is legally liable for it. Or they can settle it amicably by giving Gabby what’s due him. If she did not dupe Gabby, then by all means shout it to the world! May paiyak-iyak pa sa tv di naman niya masabi ng diretso kung niloko ba niya si Gabby! Yun lang naman ang sasagutin.

This young lady has gone a long way indeed. I am talking about Charice Pempengco (or better yet, simply Charice as she is wont to be called now). Imagine guesting on Ellen and the latter heaping praises on her singing prowess. Then Oprah would not let the competition get the better of her and she also asked Charice to come and guest on her show. Twice. And on her second guesting, Charice was given a surprise of her life. Celine Dion asking her to guest on her Madison Square Garden show!
Below is the video of the true to life duet of Charice and Celine Dion.
This girl is just sooo lucky indeed! Keep it up, Charice! Don’t change, girl friend!
I thought that I could get back last week after all the little things that happened around my couch but I was wrong. Well, it took me a couple of days more to smooth out things and now I am back!
Because I was out the whole week, I thought, why not change the layout and give something new to the visitors? So here it is! Do you like the new layout?
And the layout is not the only new thing here in The Couch Potato’s domain. I will also be implementing a few new things:
I am now offering 6 slots for 125×125 banners on my sidebar at $5 per month. If you are interested, just leave a comment in this post.
Every day, there will be a Daily Post wherein I will be offering something for that day. It may be a photo, an old news that jogged my memory or just plain something from my humble couch.
And at the end of each week, I will be giving away 500ec credits to a random visitor. I will be putting a Mr. Linky here and will draw a number randomly and the winner will get 500ec credits! Those who are not as lucky will get a Linky Love from this blog.
Sounds good, guys? I hope you will continue visiting this blog of mine and I promise to give you news that interests me from my comfy couch.
I don’t know yet! The competition will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Araneta Coliseum. I hope the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe will win once again. Go USTe!!!

RPN 9′s C/S is running old episodes of X-Files. They are showing Season 3. This is my way of passing the time between midnight and 1 in the morning. It’s like spending time with old friends. I just love Mulder and Scully!
