GMA-7 and ABS-CBN is signing up all their reality tv stars. It’s stupid and unfair when you think about it. I mean they are giving these reality show contestants false hope of getting a showbiz career after their stint in the reality show. Unfair and harsh!
Consider Pinoy Big Brother, Pinoy Dream Academy, Philippine Idol, Survivor Philippines, and other reality shows out there. So the men and women who joined, including the teens from the Teen Pinoy Big Brother, signed contracts with the networks where the shows were aired. Where are they now? They stopped going to school, resigned from work, left their families in the province because they were promised stardom. These people are only popular while the show is being aired and then a month or two after the show, unless they are remarkably unforgettable, the novelty will wear off. When a new season of the reality show they were seen airs, people will forget them.
I wish these giant tv networks will stop giving people false hope. Not all of them has star potential. We all know that.

According to Yahoo! movies, Twilight grossed a cool $35 million on its opening day, $7.5 million of which came from the midnight screenings alone. Wow!

What great news for Summit Productions, a small film outfit who gambled on the movie. Congrats!
And a Twilight survey you might want to answer

Seriously. What’s with the weird baby names these Hollywood stars are coming up with? Ashlee Simpson popped out her baby today and it’s a boy! Do you know what Ashlee and husband, Pete Wentz, named the baby? Bronx Mowgli Wentz! WTF?!?
Of course, let’s mention Nicole Kidman’s baby Sunday Rose. Kinda cute in an old-fashioned way but still cheesy. Jessica Alba’s Honor Marie or something.
There are beautiful names out there and they are choosing names that might put their kids in the mercy of bullies in the future. Tsk tsk tsk
Here is a list of other wacky baby names from Hollywood.

Hugh Jackman is the 2008 People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive. I will concede that he is indeed sexy and hot. But I would have expected this award to him back in his Wolverine days!

George Clooney, on the other hand, continues to be sexy and hot for me! And that guy on the inset… McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey! It would have been more logical to name McDreamy the sexiest man alive. His career is also red hot this year.
Just look at the dreamy eyes…

ABBA… Not!
This news is really funny. Apparently, those who already bought the ticket to the upcoming Manila ABBA Show at the PICC on November 21, 2008, tonight, is demanding a refund of their tickets. The reason? The performers coming are not really the ABBA but plain foreign performers who will be singing ABBA songs! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Well, you obviously know by now how addicted I am to the Twilight saga and everything related to the books and the movie. So I can safely say I have read almost every press release about the movie, almost all the articles written about it and have views countless photos and videos related to the movie. I just noticed a few things that bother me:
- The most glaring of the discrepancies between the upcoming movie (midnight!) and the book is that the character of Alice Cullen is not given that much importance in the upcoming movie! Have you noticed that when they introduce the cast of characters they often stop at Nikki Reed, the one playing Rosalie? Personally, I feel that of all the supporting characters, Alice is the most significant one. I just felt like they haven’t given that much importance to the character than they should. Ashley Greene is playing Alice Cullen in the movie.
- The person they cast as Jacob Black doesn’t do him justice. Come on, compare Rob Pattinson and that guy playing Jacob. Then forget about the book. By looks alone, would you really still go for Team Jacob???
- Kristen Stewart, the one playing Bella Swan, is always scowling and when she talks, she looks like she’s sarcastic all the time! I mean, seriously, it looks like she’s not happy about the movie at all!
- People are expecting something big from the movie when we all know chances are, when the book is good, the movie will bomb one way or another. I am looking forward to the movie, overly excited about it in fact, but then I am realistic in my expectations. Since Summit Productions is a small movie outfit and they said the cost of the movie amounted to $34M only, I am opening my mind to the possibility that they might have not given it all. Actually, I have read the reviews already and the critics said that it was disappointing. I doubt it would be for a die hard (Twihard) fan like me! Just lessen your expectations of it and you will benefit from that open mind.

- And please, Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen is perfect! He is totally hot!
