Who will play Jacob Black in New Moon?

Will it still be Taylor Lautner? Reports are surfacing that the role of Jacob Black is still up for grabs to whoever will be good looking enough to play the role. New Moon, the sequel to the monster movie hit Twilight, is focused more on the friendship that developed between Jacob Black and Bella Swan (to be reprised by Kristen Stewart). And Jacob in New Moon will grow by leaps and bounds more so when he starts becoming a werewolf. Taylor’s camp is releasing reports to the media that the 16-year-old actor has gained 19 lbs. since the end of filming of Twilight and will be gaining even more before the shoot of New Moon.

Personally, I feel a more mature actor should play the role. In the book, Jacob Black is taller than Edward Cullen and has started shooting up to 6 feet tall. In reality, Taylor is shorter than Rob Pattinson who plays (and will continue playing) Edward Cullen. If and when Taylor reprises the role of Jacob Black, I wonder how they will make it look that he’s a six footer.

Do you want Taylor Lautner to continue playing Jacob Black in New Moon?

  1. i don’t like taylor as jacob black. when i saw the movie, being an edward fan, i was turned off more by jacob’s character because of taylor. i don’t think he has the face bella swan would fall for and be torned by the two guys in her life. frankly, i hope they find another guy. i know La Push is an Indian reservation but he comes across as too indian with a fanglike teeth. creepy… taylor looks ok normally but being jacob, he’s kinda scary.

I don’t like Taylor as jacob black because he doesnt fit to the character, but I have nothing against taylor for he is a cute guy and I saw his movie in shark boy and lava girl. Maybe thay should cast Steven Strait as Jacob for he has the height the face and the built.
