May your soul rest in peace, Francis “Kiko” Magalona.
Your music will continue to live on.
This is really touching!
I’ve read in PEP.ph and some local newspapers that when Tony Tuviera, big boss of TAPE, Inc., the company behind the longest-running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga!, learned that Francis Magalona was diagnosed with leukemia and would undergo chemotherapy, the big boss immediately said that he would shoulder all the medical expenses of the master rapper.
Wow!
Chemo medicines are no joke. It’s really expensive, not to mention that staying in the hospital could take weeks. Imagine the amount it all amounted to! It was reported that last October 2008 when FrancisM almost died due to sepsis, he stayed in The Medical City for more than 40 days.
In these times when the economy is down and you wouldn’t expect this much generosity from someone, then came Tony Tuviera! I hope there will be more Tony T.’s out there!

So Dakota Fanning is finally joining the craziness that is Twilight. Or New Moon the movie, the second installment of the Twilight Saga. She will be playing Jane, one the members of the Volturi family.
I know she will play her role well. But I am just worried that Summit is adding more and more actors to the movie and I really question if it’s really necessary to add big name actors to the film.
Just what I am looking for! Great travel deals from Sherman’s Travel! It’s summer here in the country right now. In a few weeks, students will have their summer vacation. It would be a good time to travel somewhere cooler and where the kids can have fun. After a year of studying, a vacation will be a good reward to them.
We’re thinking of a place where both the kids and the adults in the family will have fun. A place where there will be activities for all of us. We are listing down destinations and will come up with a decision soon. The most important factor in choosing the destination would be… there should be a corresponding travel deal of the place at ShermansTravel.com!
I just love hearing how some actors are foregoing their Asian or Vegas vacations to help others. You read about all these Hollywood actors using their immense popularity to rally for a good cause. Locally, there are a handful of actors who are also using their status to influence others to do good. Either for the environment, to alleviate poverty, or to feed the hungry… I just hope there will be more and more actors who will do this.
“If a man hits you once, he WILL hit you again!”
This is Oprah’s message to pop superstar, Rihanna.
So true.
There are rumors flying around that Rihanna got married with R&B singer, Chris Brown. She must love the guy! He almost killed you and getting married to him afterwards…
I hope it’s not true for her sake.
There is a construction going on two blocks from where I live. Whenever I have to go to the grocery store or drugstore, I have to pass by that construction area. I am a person with an overactive imagination. I don’t like passing by places where there is a possibility that debris would fall down my head. Fortunately, I know there are safety equipment the construction is using to ensure the safety of the pedestrian traffic.
Cheap Blinds is the solution to my ever growing problem with my couch’s position getting too much glare of the sun. Actually, we need this for all the windows at home. I love the sun but the glare is playing havoc to my vision. I have very poor vision and I rely on my glasses all the time. With the sun on my face, you can imagine how distorted my vision becomes. Sigh.
OMG! Can’t wait for the movie to come out! Excuse me, I will re-read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince once more.
Happy weekend everyone!

Master rapper/popular tv host-singer, Francis Magalona, died at 12:20 pm today, March 6, at the Medical City hospital in Pasig City, from leukemia. It was announced on national tv by comedian, Vic Sotto, on the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga. The stars of the popular noontime show broke into tears as they prayed for the soul of their friend, Kiko.
He battled cancer for almost eight months before finally succumbing to it. He died of heart failure, a common cause of death by people suffering from cancer.
FrancisM was only 44.

This is one of the last 3 photos he posted in his Multiply blog.
I am a huge fan of FrancisM. He’s one of the few singers in the country who knew how to transform a nationalistic song into a cool one. Mga Kababayan Ko will always be one of the greatest songs he produced.
I love Kaleidoscope World the most, though
In his last blog entry, he related that he would be undergoing his 4th chemotherapy cycle and was asking for prayers from everyone.
So sad.
TCP needs some weight loss pills asap! I am feeling so sluggish and is more comfortable sitting on my couch than standing up or walking. Which is a bad sign, if you ask me! I experienced this before when I am way too overweight. Sleepy all the time as well. Bad, bad, bad!
I need to be more active. I don’t know how I could do that because my body is just too weak to resist the food. Sigh.
