Time for me to be off the couch this week. I will be doing some purchasing for the family. The research about mesothelioma that my cousin is asking me for help will have to be put on hold until Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday will be reserved for errands and other tasks to be performed outside the house. Off the couch for me in a few hours. Be safe everyone!

My cousin and her husband will be having their honeymoon after three months into their marriage. They wanted a special honeymoon so they saved up for a cruise. They checked whether they would go for an Asian or Caribbean cruises. They opted for the latter. Both love the beach and actually met at a beach resort. So this is extra special for them. They will be gone for a month and a half. They will also be stopping by another country and will be doing some shopping there.

When I am happy, I can go on a day with only one meal. It’s like happiness is a great appetite suppressant to me. But when I am at a low, I can eat and eat and won’t feel filled at all. I can go on extreme ends. And it all depends on my mood. I am sure a lot of people out there can relate to what I am saying right now.

I talked to one of my uncles last night and he told me about a family friend who is having problems with his kid again. Kid’s not going to school and is always with friends who seem to be a bad influence to him. Anyway, their family decided to book rooms at Suburban extended stay hotel. They will go on a vacation and will attempt to talk things out with their kid. I do hope it will be successful. Our family friend deserves peace and quiet as he’s also sick.

W is already working abroad. He’s one lucky guy! Did you know that a month after he resigned and went out of the country to work there, his former company folded? A casualty of the recession going on around the world. Good thing he thought of checking out admin careers that his aunt told him about. He was able to shift and is now doing well abroad.

I have said several times in the past entries I’ve posted here that I love reality shows. But those family-friendly ones only. We have kids at home so adult shows are a no-no. One of the cable channels that we are subscribed to is Discovery Channel’s Home & Health. Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs in that channel.

I’ve been following the show. Jon and Kate Gosselin are proud parents to 8-year-old twins and 4-year-old sextuplets. The reality show chronicles how the family lives and how Jon and Kate manages to take care of the eight kids.

Anyway, about a month ago, articles about Jon’s infidelity surfaced on the net. He was captured on photo drunk and partying with college girls. The reality show will be going on it’s 5th season soon. Probably due to this, Jon is now disputing the rumors that he cheated on his wife, Kate. He said in an interview with Ladies Home Journal that he never cheated on his wife.

But I noticed that he never did explain why he was caught on camera with the college-aged girls.

I stopped watching the last few episodes of last season because it was boring and annoying at some point. I wonder if there are still people waiting for the next season?

One of these days, maybe in a week’s time or even less, we might be seeing Britney Spears No. 2… Lindsay Lohan! The girl is a mess! You can read in almost all gossip columns how she parties so hard every night. Boozing it up once again when she was supposed to be staying away from alcoholic drinks. Smoking like a pipe and possibly doing drugs again. Tsk tsk tsk

I wonder why her mom, who should be stopping her, is even accompanying her to the clubs. Poor girl! Somebody should be doing something to stop her from thrashing her life even more. Even before the break up with Samantha Ronson, she’s already heading to the boondocks with her crazy antics. No work because of being diva (read: major attitude problem). Fighting in public with Samantha everywhere. Plus the booze and the smoke and the reportedly drug use…

I wonder why celebrities who are doing drugs and alcohol get away with it…

Lily Allen comes to mind. Look at the train wreck! She promotes the use of illegal drugs, albeit indirectly. Imagine this statement from the singer:

Parents should say, ‘Drugs might seem fun, but they do funny things to your brain. Some people react to it good, some don’t. Try it and see what you think’.

WTH?!?

You can always see her drunk on stage, singing with a glass of wine or with a cigarette stick. She openly tells everyone who will listen that she does drugs. I don’t see why this celebrity gets away with it.

Why aren’t anyone intervenes? What does her parents say? Where are the authorities who should be checking this train wreck???

What happened to Jolina Magdangal? I am watching the replay of GMA-7‘s environment special Signos when a teaser of upcoming shows was shown. She was shown with Marvin Agustin. My sister asked who the girl was. I thought it was Ate Gay! You know that gay impersonator of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?

What did she do to herself??? Hair cut so short and not even styled properly. Still looking jologs as ever! Hay.

Marvin was able to maintain his matinee looks. Jolina, on the other hand, became more and more has-been looking! What a shame!

I love, love, love this teleserye! I am not really a fan of local primetime tv shows. Too much drama. Overacting. Plus the story is sometimes annoying as hell. But then this one really caught my attention. Tayong Dalawa. Maybe because it feels like you are watching a Koreanovela. Fast-paced. Drama is contained. Both Cherry Pie Picache‘s and Gina Pareño‘s acting is superb! Kim Chiu is not that annoying. The two David Garcias, Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca, are good! And the supporting cast delivers.

Just try watching an episode and you will get hooked!

Kris Allen is my bet in this season’s American Idol. Among the finalists, he is the one that has star potential for me. I don’t like the antics of the other finalists, particularly that of Adam Lambert and Megan Joy. Both are exceedingly annoying for me. I also like Scott MacIntyre.

To tell the truth, this season’s finalists are a bit disappointing. Last season, you can’t even choose because almost all of them were great performers! This season, most are so-so. I mean there’s no Chris Daughtry or David Cook or Jordin Sparks in this batch.

I just wish they’d perform even better in the coming weeks.
