In case of emergencies, make sure you know where the exit signs are. Because those signs will point you to the direction where safety is. There was an instance when it happened to me. An emergency broke out at the building where my previous office was located. And it really was a good thing that I knew where the fire exits were. The ones in obvious places where packed with people going down the staircase. While the ones I knew in the far corners of the floor were deserted. I was one of the first ones to be able to go down.
