I am really wondering why Chef Rosebud Benitez was given a show of her own. Quickfire in QTV-11 is what I am talking about. I have watched almost all episodes of Katoque (also in QTV-11) before where she’s one of the 6 chefs featured. In almost every episode, there’s a contest among the 6 chefs. She’s never won any of it! Their guest judges are top chefs in the country, food critics and even some of their colleagues. Believe me, she’s always the kulelat! She probably registers on the TV screen better than her Katoque barkada. But on the food aspect, the speech and all that… parang kulelat pa rin! The food she’s cooking in her Quickfire show is not even appetizing. Never pa akong nakakita ng episode na nanakam ako sa niluluto niya! I’m just really a sucker for any local cooking show that’s why I watch Quickfire. But I always end up irritating myself by watching it!

Somebody should tell her to just speak in Tagalog. Si China Cojuangco nga who’s better in the English language talks in Tagalog in My Favorite Recipes, why not her? And she should stop feeding what her guests should say about her dish! Or better yet, she should stop having guests on her Quickfire segments. She had Joel Cruz as guest the other day (or the day before that yata). What did Joel do? Just stir the Teriyaki Sauce for the Chicken Nuggets! And she told him na “O di ba, you can say na you stirred the sauce ha!” Or something to that effect. Katawa di ba?

Chef Aileen Anastacio‘s dishes are the true mouth-watering ones talaga! You can literally get hungry just by watching her cook! With China naman, I can’t wait for the 24 dishes to end na. She’s not a good cook at all! Parang cooking student lang na nagde-demo. Bring back Chef Aileen already!
