Jennifer’s new mansion doesn’t have a guest room in it. When she learned about it, she asked the contractor to make sure a room in the house will be converted to a guest room as she always has someone come over for the night or on weekends. The room meant to be a walk-in closet of hers is being converted to a guest room complete with its own mini bar and kitchenette and quick step floors.

Jennifer’s parents will be coming over for the weekend and she told the contractor that the room should be done before then.

My friend was so scared during the more than 24-hour black out that happened recently. Because of that, a rechargeable battery is now a must for her. She can’t go without her gadgets for a day and she almost went crazy because her two laptops went out hours away from getting the electricity back.

Good thing that she found cafes where she managed to charge her laptops for a fee. But that black out dented her pockets a bit. Next time, she told herself, she will be ready for emergencies like that. Rechargeable batteries are just the start.

There are so many students trying to become nurses these days. It’s the one profession that is guaranteed you can get a job anywhere in the world. I have friends who are nurses and one of them is aiming to work outside the country. Greener pasture, you know. And I can understand her because she has a son who is now in high school.

I have a friend who has one of those Technical Recruiter Consultant Jobs and has his eye on becoming a CEO in the future. He is ambitious but is against office politics of any kind. He does his work the best way he knows how. He works hard, even going to the office on weekends when needed. He also has no complains when his boss asks him to do work outside the scope of his job.

His boss once told him that by the time he resigns and gets the job he likes abroad, he will recommend Ben to the upper management. His boss sees a very dedicated worker in him. Someone who has the technical know how of the job and the charm of someone who knows how to market himself and the work he has.

When it comes to orchestrating a romantic interlude at home, she is an expert! Wanting to make sure that her husband won’t go looking for another, she plans days and nights of romance for them. She dresses up as his fantasies. That’s what she does at least once a week. And to make it more romantic, she prepares wine and berries dipped in chocolate always ready to set the mood. My brother has two new pups at home. One is an Akita breed while the other one is a shih tzu. I am more drawn to the latter because the pup is sweet and cuddly. The Akita is noisy so I tend to avoid that one.

My friend and colleague was telling me about the metal buildings that are being erected near the metro railway. He said that those buildings will be designated ecozones where foreign companies can put up their offices and get a tax holiday in the process. Great idea! It will be a good way to lure foreign investors in the country.

The country needs more foreign investors to come in and create more jobs in the process. I know that medical tourism is still being pitched by Vicki Belo to the DOT. Her idea is a sound one I don’t know why the Tourism board isn’t doing something about it. There’s also the retirement houses that some sectors are pushing for the DOT to focus their campaign on. Again, I am not sure the Tourism board is doing something about it. Luring foreigners into the country can create jobs. I hope the Tourism board is listening.

One of the must-have in Kate’s travel kit is a tan towel. She doesn’t go out of town or country without a pack with her. Kate loves her tan and if she can only make it a permanent skin of hers, she would have done so. Unfortunately she is a fair-skinned woman and regular tanning is the only solution she knows on how to maintain an olive skin.

I do think that more and more women are appreciating olive skin nowadays. No wonder tanning products are popular among fair-skinned women.

My sister and I would watch re-runs of MTV’s Sweet 16 whenever we can. There was one episode where the celebrator asked her mom to get vintage t shirts and have it ‘ripped’ by a well-known creative artist. It was awesome! My sister was looking for one days after we watched that episode. We really want one of those shirts!

Sigh. We can’t help but sometimes be envious of those teens who held lavish sweet 16 parties for MTV to capture. Can you imagine holding a party for all of your friends and even those you want to impress. And then there’s the celebrity guest and the car that usually comes as a gift from the parents.

When I turned 16, I celebrated it with pasta, cake and ice cream.

My friend’s kid is into sports. She is a triathlete and competes nationally. She brings home a lot of sports trophies and my friend, being the proud mom that she is, displays it all in their living room. Of course, for everyone to see

Well, who wouldn’t be proud of a kid who struggles with her academics but does her best to excel in everything she tackles head on? I am not even her godmother but I also feel proud of her! Who wouldn’t be?

While I was checking the can am commander accessories with my brother, I suddenly missed watching Little People, Big World. It’s a reality show I like watching because it helped me realized just how important it is to live a normal life, no matter what condition you are in, no matter if you are special in one way or another.

The Little Guy in that show functions like an ordinary person without the disabilities brought about by his dwarfism. I am just inspired to see them in action, trying to survive each day, not getting drawn back by their situation in life.

Some local stores aren’t issuing receipts. I noticed that when I went shopping last week. Since the law states that stores need to issue official or tape receipts to their customers, I took it upon myself to inform them of this. Kindly, I must add. I told one local store owner to get a receipt printer. It will be less costly for him to get one instead of going on without it. If the tax bureau tracks them down, it will cost them a lot!

I will be going back this weekend and I’ll see if they listened to my advice. If not, then it’s their risk.

If there’s one thing that Diego is known for, it is his love for his wheels. He just purchased blaque diamond wheels to show off his car once more when he goes to visit his friends. He just loves showing it off!

Well, I do think Diego has a right to show off his wheels. He works hard five days a week so whatever he spends for his car comes from his own pocket. And he isn’t bothering anybody with his passion for his car.

I think we all heard of Kim Kardashian’s big wedding bash that happened a couple of days ago. It was the talk of the town, even as far away as the Asian countries. Kim is a big reality TV star and whether we like it or not, she has made a name for herself and her family and they’re here to stay.

Heather loves her pet dog so much. It’s been with them for the past three years already and has been a constant source of love at home. The dog is now suffering from mange and Heather is doing her best to get her pet cured.

Her pet was given to her by someone special. They have since broken up but the pet remained a reminder of the good times. Heather will do everything to get her pet well again. Even if that means shelling out more than what she can afford.

The woman clearly has a craving for media attention. She would do crazy stunts to gain the attention that she just loves. You know what I can somehow understand the woman. Her family and especially her kids no longer talk to her due to past mistakes. Her friends turned their backs on her when she lost her stardom. Only the media was there to chronicle every step she took after her fall.

She’s now more mellow. Yes, she still does some crazy stunts but not as huge as it used to. She now just turned to wearing funny t shirts to somehow shock the prim and proper in the crowd.

Marvin swims like a fish. Ever since he was a little kid, that time his parents were advised by his doctors to get him into swimming to strengthen his lungs, he loved being in the water. If you ask him what he would want for a gift, he’d tell you something related to swimming like goggle lenses. That’s the last one he requested from his dad.

Like a fish. That’s how Marvin is described by people close to him. He is a swimming coach for very young kids. He holds swimming lessons at their village’s clubhouse pool. He can’t wait to compete in an international competition that he joined couple of weeks ago.

Serge’s family will be going on an outing this coming week. They will be away for five days and are planning to be on the countryside to meet up with family friends. They will be bringing their rv with them. Good thing Serge just took out an rv insurance for it. His dad will also be getting some more stuff they might need while on the road.

Going on outings is something that Serge and his siblings grew up looking forward to. His parents love spending time outdoors and Serge and his siblings got that love of outdoors from them.
