When I go grocery shopping at this local store near our house, I make sure I cash out at the register that has a barcode scanner rather than those whose cashier manually punches the prices of each item. Yes, there is still a store that has a manual register this side of the country. And it’s not like I don’t trust the person manning the cash register. It’s just that it’s faster and easier for a cashier with a barcode scanner to finish footing my bill, especially if I am shopping for two weeks.

Do you know how important an emergency alert system is? Very important! Because an emergency happens when we least expect it.

I never get tired of reminding my siblings about the emergency that happened in a building, while I was up at the 22nd floor. We all had to go down the building caused by a fire on the 2nd floor. Just imagine what would have happened had the fire ate the whole floor and we couldn’t use that to exit the building?

Or there was this one instance when my college buddy’s neighbor’s house was burglarized while all of the family was fast asleep. When they woke up, their living room was already vacant! All the furniture and appliances in it were taken by the burglars! Scary had one of them woke up in the middle of it all.

Be alert. That’s what I always tell my siblings. Because you never know when an emergency will strike.

We will be getting the air filters replaced at home. Little girl easily gets sick and we suspect it’s in the air. When you have kids around, you want the place clean all the time. And when there is a suspected virus spreading through the air, you are even more paranoid when it comes to air filters, vents and other passageways for air.

Time for some general cleaning again!

If I could change things in the Twilight movie saga, I would! Here are a few things I would like changed:

• Get a new Bella Swan! Kristen Stewart looks so awkward and lame-faced all the time! And she always manages to look unhappy with her Twilight gig. The ungrateful loser!

• Get a better-looking Rosalie Hale. Nicki Reed is NOT the ethereal beauty that we learned to hate then love in the Twilight saga books. Please!

• Get a better-looking, taller, and more muscled Jacob Black. Taylor Lautner is just not that. He’s good-looking enough, I guess. But get someone who can compete with Robert Pattinson’s on-screen charisma! Someone who we can believe is taller than the Edward Cullen we all love. And the one to whom he almost lost Bella to.

• Get a better scriptwriter! Someone who will not change the story altogether! Remember the sequence where Bella is saying goodbye to Phoenix? WTF was that?!? And the diner sequences of Bella and her dad, Charlie? She’s supposed to be cooking for him! And what about Bella in her underwear? The lame scenes with Rosalie? The underexposure of our well-loved Alice? The comic scenes of Bella’s dad with Billy Black? The Eric Yorkie show on campus? The unnecessary scenes of the three villain vampires. Etc, etc, etc. Too many unnecessary scenes in the movie and the most important one was not even written well! Oh, I am talking about the meadow scene!

• Get a better director! Catherine Hardwicke was obviously in love with Nicki Reed. She gave her the most number of scenes when in fact Alice should have played a major role in the movie. The execution of the scenes was blah!

• Make Stephenie Meyer sign a contract wherein it states that the movie will stay true to the book. JK Rowling was able to do that with the Harry Potter movies. Why can’t she?

Have you noticed how VJs tend to put on a bored persona just for them to look cool while spouting gibberish???

They all look like wasted individuals to me who are only good in speaking American English but have really nothing better to say. Try listening to the local MYX channel and you will surely be annoyed right away. Even the Atenean jock is talking so much nonsense that I switched channel in the first 30 seconds that he opened his mouth!

Aargh! No wonder the tweens, teens, and young adults of today would always want to appear bored to be labeled cool!

One of my former bosses put up her very own business. It’s a talent agency. Actually, she has several talents under her wing already. But then, she thought of merging her budding agency before with a big company. It failed, though. Funding and not enough income coming in were the culprits. I must admit this… When I saw a number of promotional materials and the poster, I still got excited over New Moon, the sequel to the Twilight movie. Aargh! I just hope with all my heart that Chris Weitz won’t mess with the book! Although come to think of it, New Moon is the least liked among the Twilight Saga books.

I am still excited to see Rob Pattinson aka Edward Cullen reprise his role. Still yummy! More than ever!!!

Are you watching Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up? I catch snippets of it when I am still awake around 10:30pm. It airs directly after Dahil May Isang Ikaw of Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. It was hyped up during it’s promotional stage. Something’s cooking in Big Brother’s house. The came the big unveiling…

Surprise, surprise! There are two houses! That means two sets of housemates!

It was not that exciting, to tell the truth. We watched past seasons. This season, the drum up seemed to me like all noise and no substance. It turned out to be true. To raise the level of interest (if any) by the televiewers, they included a transsexual housemate.

Big Brother then included twins who tried their best to confuse their housemates. They failed. A couple then came in, who pretended to be not a married couple. The woman was tasked to flirt with someone in the house. It almost caused trouble with the couple. The husband was eaten by jealousy. He had to bow out or risk the anger of Big Brother when he revealed that he’s the husband of the woman. Hay…

The thing is, I could not get what the f**k Big Brother wants to accomplish with all the cheap tricks up his sleeves. With the married couple, he said that to see the strength of their relationship. Which to me is rubbish! It’s all a cheap trick to drum up interest. With the transsexual, acceptance. Which is bullshit! Another cheap ploy, if you ask me.

Ratings are down, by the way. I don’t think a lot of people are watching. I think there was more interest with Survivor Philippines: Palau than this season’s Pinoy Big Brother. Too bad. Another investment gone to waste for ABS-CBN.

A friend of mine is so addicted to a popular social networking site. Two dark circles under her eyes is the result of it!

When I saw her, she told me how she’s so hooked on the site. She could spend all day playing games, posting shout outs, sharing links, videos, photos and what-nots with her friends. I was laughing over dinner because I couldn’t get it. I just couldn’t understand how she can do it.

I probably need to try it to know why. And then when I do, I hope I won’t get sucked in like what happened to my friend.

Can someone please tell Christopher de Leon to tone down his acting? Ang OA grabe! I couldn’t help but watch Lovers in Paris if I am still awake at this hour. My sibs watch it. And whenever I catch an episode, I couldn’t help but cringe and make comments. OA lahat! The story, the lead and supporting actors (except for Hyubs and the one playing KC’s uncle)… The ultimate OA in the teleserye are Christopher de Leon and Assunta de Rossi!!!

No wonder the soap isn’t rating.

Major failure!

I was watching a favorite tv show when Disneyland was suddenly shown on screen. It reminded me of my promise to the family that we will go on orlando vacations soon. We weren’t given the chance to go visit Disneyland when we were little. Now that we are old enough to save for a trip to Mickey Mouse’s enchanted kingdom, our desire to go see it intensified.

This couch potato is slowly emerging from her comfortable couch. Hahaha

You might have noticed that I hardly did updates for the past few weeks now. I have been drafting posts but have always been not in the mood to post any of it. After this, I just might publish several of those drafts to share with you. But I am still hoping it will happen because with the bell tv my dad is talking to me about, I just might find myself back deep on my comfortable couch.

I am eyeing a brand new or a refurbished laptop by next month. I just feel like I love writing using a laptop more than a desktop. Or it’s just probably me and my erratic behavior haha

The laptop I have has gone bonkers on me. It just stopped functioning properly all of a sudden. I don’t know if it’s caused by too much use or something’s really needed to be fixed inside it. I want to bring it to the customer center but I am afraid they will try to get more from me than the usual cost of repairing it. So I am waiting for my cousin to come home for a vacation before I bring it there.

For now, I am using my desktop. I miss the sound of my laptop keys. It’s soothing to me and induces writing powers I never know I have.

My dad and I will be checking out electrical supplies for home. The man with whom we trust our electrical needs at home might be going abroad for a stint. So it will be better for us to have everything checked before he goes out of the country. We don’t want to find ourselves without the man we trust when an electrical matter at home arises.

We don’t really trust others when it comes to tinkering with anything at home. I remember someone we know whose family was robbed by the sons of their laundrywoman. The sons were trusted with repairs for their home. And look what they did! They memorized the house plan and attacked in the middle of the night, taking away a lot of things lying around at their home.

I missed a lot of movies that I was eagerly awaiting the release of…

My Sister’s Keeper. I’ve always wanted to see this movie. Although I’ve read that the reviews were disappointing. Still, I wanted to watch it. Because the book is really great.

The Time Traveler’s Wife is another movie I was eagerly awaiting but haven’t caught in the threatres. For some reason, I missed it. That time it was being shown locally, I was busy with some important matters.

Oh well, there’s DVDs anyway. I can still watch it when the DVDs will be released.

With the recent typhoon Ondoy onslaught, I don’t think car owners will think twice about getting a car insurance for their cars. Some people were able to claim from their insurance plans. I don’t know how they did it but they were able to.

This is what I’ve been telling others about getting an insurance. You just never know when you’re going to need it.

Unlike Terry, I prefer an appetite suppressant. I have a healthy appetite. As long as the food looks appetizing, I will eat it. Sometimes, if I don’t like what’s on the table, I can find a way to eat just as much as when I like what’s on the table. I am creative that way. Hahaha!

But seriously, I need to get off my couch already. I am getting bloated because I am always either in front of the tv set or in front of the computer. And to move my butt so it won’t get bigger and bigger each day. Hahaha

Terry is getting extremely cranky. Her co-workers are wondering why she was like that. What they didn’t know is that she is starving herself to go from a size 3 to a size 0. She wants to fit into a beautiful and expensive dress she bought. Instead of starving yourself like Terry, take a Medifast diet instead. The effect will not be like what Terry experiences at the moment. She just might pass out if she doesn’t start eating by now.
