Taken off the air :(
Two of my favorite cable tv shows were taken off the air by Travel & Living channel in Destiny Cable TV just last week. Party Planner by David Tutera was a show my sister and I both loved to watch every 5 in the afternoon. We just love how innovative and creative this guy is. The couch potato and her sister were surprised when they found another show airing on the Party Planner’s timeslot. Afternoons just wasn’t the same from my couch
And horror of horrors, they also took off the air my favorite tattoo show, Miami Ink! I often watch Miami Ink at 11pm daily. I guess to make way for Kat Von D’s LA Ink (old episodes), they had to take off Miami Ink. Nothing to look forward to at 11 in the evening anymore.
Calling Destiny Cable TV! Please ask Travel & Living to bring back my two fave shows!
Deceptively Delicious
I am watching the 12-episode lifestyle marathon of Oprah. Just finished the episode about feeding kids vegetables. I was once that kid. I saw myself in some of them. I didn’t eat vegetables when I was little and look at how fat I am right now
I wish Jessica Seinfeld wrote Deceptively Delicious when I was kid.It might have helped my mom feed me vegetables before. And I might not have grown into this couch potato I am.
Speechless!
The couch potato was speechless as she was watching the Beijing Olympics the other night. Wow! The Chinese really did an amazing job! I bow down to their expertise in fireworks, lighting and audio-visual presentation. I just had to force my mouth shut every time a new presentation was being performed. That execution of lighting the torch… A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
Were you able to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics?
$14 Freakin’ Million???
I don’t know what is happening to the world right now. While everyone else is suffering from hunger, sickness, drought and some other horrible basic problem in the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins got paid US$14M just for their freakin’ photos!!!
I just couldn’t see where the earthly equilibrium is in that. Nowhere, I tell you. Life is just freakin’ messed up, people!
Cannibal
I was sitting on my couch watching the news tonight. A news was delivered regarding a man killing a 15-year-old girl and eating her heart, liver and intestines. This happened in La Union, a province north of the Philippines. A number of kids witnessed it and have called the attention of the local police.
Sometimes, a seemingly harmless neighbor would turn out to be the monster that you thought is hiding underneath your bed. Que horror!
Quick Fire
I love watching cooking shows. You can put me in front of a tv and make me watch 24 hours straight. As long as it’s cooking shows. Naturally, I watch Quick Fire, a cooking show patterned after the 30-minute meals made famous by Rachel Ray. It is hosted by Chef Rosebud Benitez.
What she does is she cooks a meal good for one person in a 10 minutes. I like how she delivers the show. But I just have one comment to make… I wish she would just be made to speak in Tagalog-English (Taglish) instead of the ‘trying hard’ way she speaks in English all the time. Anyway, her target audience are Filipino moms.
Cable TV
Eversince we had cable tv installed, I have been monitoring good movies at Home Box Office (HBO). There are a lot of good movies that I missed watching on the big screen and HBO is a great and free way of watching those movies.
There is also the Hallmark Channel where I was able to watch novels turned into Hallmark movies. Yesterday I was able to watch Vanished. I forgot who wrote the novel but the teaser said that it is a novel-turned-into-movie. I was curious enough to watch it and it is riveting.
